I have been working with the ART League of Lincoln more since I was elected President in December. We are opening a new second gallery- The Rotunda Gallery - on the second floor of city hall under the direction of curator Julie Sullivan. The first exhibit will showcase artists who are employed by the City of Lincoln or the School District and will open Tuesday, Jan.17. The next exhibit will be the Art of Gladding McBean a part of Feats of Clay and America's ClayFest

My other news is that I am finishing up a mural for the Lincoln Police Dept. and having a complete knee replacement next Friday, Jan. 20! So I will be working digitally from home for awhile.

I will focus on posting more frequently!

Lots of projects This summer! I spend so much time on iPad and find it is harder to post photos that I get behind! When I began this site I had an illusion of writing every day....so much for that goal!

I have resigned my position as Artist in Residence at Gladding McBean! It was interesting but I am having fun doing all sorts of art projects. I am entering all of the exhibits at the Art League through this year by using the exhibit themes as personal creative challenges. So far, in the last 3 exhibits one of my entries has been the first to sell!

Nature and Animals

The Abstract Exhibit

The Member's Exhibit

I will have entries in the Art League Word, Fiber Art and Veterans'  Exhibits (one that I did for the Sacramento VA and 2 of my father's - an army private) as well as pieces in the Sun City Wearable Arts Fashion Show in October.

I have been working with the Art League to bring back Feats of Clay at the Gladding McBean factory next year and we are getting very close! You will probably hear me shouting from wherever you are when we get final approval.

I'm also on another committee to expand the Art League into a second gallery space on the second floor of the city hall. The first exhibit is a City Employees art show with a target date of Oct. 31!

i will post more soon.....promise!

i have not posted in a while because I've been doing a wide variety of things!
i'm usually on my iPad and I can't seem to post photos onto this blog. I will try from this laptop

I photographed a great sunset on the way home one evening.

In April I went to my 50 high school reunion and stopped by the Newbury Park Library and they still have the banners that I made for them 24 years ago!

Some photos through the Santa Inez valley on the way home.

A double rainbow out my kitchen window.

The first part of May my sister, Cathy, and I went on a road trip to the Antelope Canyon in Page, AZ - a destination on my bucket list!

Pictures from Page to New Mexico

I just found a photo of the phoenix costume that I made last fall for the Wearable Art fashion show last fall.

My entries into the Abstract Exhibit.

Photo Art - Day trip

Photo Art - Lilies

Oil painting - Nebulae

A rusted metal pale that I mounted on the backyard wall.

I made faux copper panels for the spaces to add a little something!

Happy New Year! My apologies for being absent. Two weeks in Hawaii, terrible cold and a wonderful deferred Christmas with my twin granddaughters, son and daughter in love, son Steve and Dan's sister.
The cold is finally lessening and I will be back in my hut in the GMcB "shire" on Monday. I will be putting on glazes to get things ready for firing.
A few months ago Max Moon, a local realtor gave me a 6' x 6' canvas that I've been looking and looking at. I believe that I have been inspired by a video of wild horses that my sister, Cathy Powers, posted. I will keep you posted!
