I was back at it today. My eye is doing well with the new lens but have to work around putting 3 kinds of drops - 4 times a day (two have to be refrigerated)! but I can drive and see a lot clearer. I can't wait to have my right eye done on Aug. 3!
I finished carving 2 pipe- one for Mr. Pickles - guess which one?

This is a new version of "I love you California" bear. This photo was taken when I first got in this am. He has come a long way since. He's about 18" high and will go on a glazed pipe. I carved little oak leaf and flower stamps so that I can add more detail to the base. On a walk to Models and Moulds I had a scavenger hunt for pieces of wood and stuff that I could use to create texture on the base and "fur" on his body. Tomorrow I will work on the tree stumps behind him.
The small bear is a version that I did about 5 years ago and had Jesse Cardenas make a mould so I will make some more of these as people really love him.
